LV Heat Shrink Termination Kits — Overview
Low voltage heat shrink termination kits provide a clean, professional and weatherproof termination for 1.1kV cables entering distribution panels, switchboards, LT meters, DG sets and other LV equipment. They replace the older method of using PVC tape wrapping — which degrades rapidly in outdoor conditions and is prone to moisture ingress at the cable-equipment interface.
VIKCHEM's LV termination kits use adhesive-lined heat shrink tubes that bond directly to the cable jacket when heated, creating a hermetic seal that keeps moisture out even in partially submerged or flood-prone cable pits. Available for single-core, 3-core, 3.5-core, 4-core and 5-core armoured and unarmoured XLPE, PVC and FRLS cables.

Installation Steps
Prepare the Cable End
Cut cable to length, remove outer jacket and armour (if present) to required dimensions as per kit instructions.
Slide on Outer Sleeve
Slide the overall heat shrink sleeve over the cable before making conductor connections.
Fit Phase Sleeves
Slide individual phase identification tubes (Red, Yellow, Blue, Black) over each conductor.
Apply Heat
Using a heat gun, shrink all tubes from centre outward. The adhesive lining melts to create a moisture-proof bond with the cable jacket.
Connect and Test
Complete conductor connections to panel or equipment, then carry out insulation resistance test before energisation.
