Heat Shrink Termination Kits for XLPE Cable — Overview
VIKCHEM's heat shrink termination kits for XLPE cables are pre-engineered assemblies designed to safely terminate cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated power cables at switchgear, transformers, overhead line poles and other electrical equipment. The kits use radiation cross-linked, heat-activated polymeric components that shrink to form a tightly bonded, moisture-proof, UV-resistant insulation system over the cable end.
Unlike imported alternatives from 3M or Raychem that are designed for temperate climates, VIKCHEM's XLPE termination kits are engineered and tested for Indian conditions — high ambient temperatures, monsoon humidity, industrial pollution and coastal salt spray. Every kit is manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 quality management and tested per IS 13573 and IEC 60502 before despatch.
Available for single-core, 3-core and 3.5-core XLPE cables in indoor and outdoor configurations. Suitable for XLPE, FRLS (flame retardant low smoke) and EPR (ethylene propylene rubber) insulated cables.
