Overview
Heat shrink insulating tubing is the most widely used cable accessory in electrical installations. Made from modified cross-linked polyolefin, it shrinks radially when heated to wrap tightly around cables, conductors, splices and bus bars — providing electrical insulation, mechanical protection, phase identification and environmental sealing in a single operation. VIKCHEM manufactures insulating tubing in 2:1 and 3:1 shrink ratios for the full range of cable and conductor sizes used in Indian power systems.
Types Available
2:1 Thin Wall
Standard insulating tubing for general purpose wire and cable insulation. Shrinks to half its supplied diameter on heating.
3:1 Medium Wall
Greater shrink ratio for cables and conductors with larger diameter variation between minimum and maximum sizes.
