Overview
The LV breakout boot is a purpose-designed heat shrink component for low voltage multi-core cable terminations. In standard 3-core, 3.5-core, 4-core and 5-core LV cables, the outer jacket must be cut back to fan out the individual cores for connection — leaving an exposed area where moisture can enter between the cores. The LV breakout boot seals this transition with a moulded multi-leg heat shrink boot that shrinks to grip the cable jacket and each individual core, creating a moisture-resistant seal in a single operation. VIKCHEM manufactures LV breakout boots as a standard component of LV termination and jointing kits for DISCOM, industrial and solar applications.
